Seriously, this is the MOST wonderful item! It is so your kitties don't steal your yarns whilst knitting or so your yarn doesn't get tangled and you trip over it when you get off the couch or so you won't drag it to the kitchen on commercials, etc. Yes, you can use bags or whatnots...., but what could be more sinister than this at hiding your yarn? Want, want, want...
Yes, Henry is extremely interested in playing Football for the 7th grade team at Granbury Middle School next year! This isn't flag or touch either.
He has gone to two practices and LOVES the workouts, the team-building, etc.
Who knew? Not me!
Will the enthusiasm last? No one knows...
Henry performed with his school band this past week at Shady Lakes in Dallas somewhere off the George Bush Tollway, which for some reason never had a booth to take my $.50 that I held in my hands for miles and miles...
I'm expecting a bill in the mail anyday.
The class sounded great and ended up with a trophy but I think the best part was- wait, I KNOW the best part was the rides and being around friends!
Henry and I just spent a couple of hours in the rain helping the Salvation Army with their Spring Garage Sale. We were unfortunately helped by two very large, very lovable but needy dogs with no collars or the ability to stop loving people.
I found this beautiful specimen on the recent Boy-Scout campout near San Marcos. Agarita or Algarita is a true native Texas plant that provides lots of beautiful berries which make great jam. Great jam, that is, if you can snatch 'em before the birds get 'em (which is why agarita really is a great plant~ it's for the birds!). Amazing that the plant was a few yards from my tent and I found it only a few minutes before leaving. Wonder what I was thinking- why didn't I spot it sooner?
It had been misting for a few hours. Click on the bottom picture to see the rain drops...
My yellow in this case is no so mellow. In fact I'm trying to say it's frightened like me.
Pick your focus of attention on purpose.. Once you choose your intention, set your focus on that and develop confidence that you are in the process of realizing that goal, you spring forward towards your desire. Remember, you set the pace and empower the situation with your intention. Your commitment to your desire and your focus of attention, creates for you..
I put things places waiting to put them in other special places where I can find them but in the mean time I lose them so I can't ever find them. Do you know what I mean?
Yes, I believe I am officially a middle aged woman seeing that I am knitting dishrags. I've hesitated for so long on the argument that it seems so "matronly" to do so. However, in the spirit of learning new stitches and making the muscle-memory stick, I have caved. Here is my first, which I have appropriately given to my mother who has not only taught me how to knit, but has urged me on. Notice the colors are quite the same as my napkins:
"deep burn and perfect sweetness... mentally calming... caffeine.... no calories.... don't have to feel guilty (with) regards to my attempt to trim down when I drink it"
The ornaments are safely put away, the tree is down and the lights are off. There were not many pictures taken this year, only a few from the Tennessee trip:
There are more on Facebook if anyone is interested.
Sorry, the Christmas cards never materialized. Perhaps next year will bring a fresh start to my creativity. It never really seemed like Christmas this year....
You used to dream yourself away each night To places that you'd never been On wings made of wishes That you whispered to yourself Back when every night the moon and you Would sweep away to places That you knew Where you would never get the blues
